Kumori on Nolana serves sushi rolls, nigiri, rice bowls and teppanyaki; it's part of the Valley-based Kumori group, with other locations in McAllen, Weslaco, Brownsville and San Antonio.

La Conchería Café on North 23rd Street bakes more than 13 flavors of conchas, plus marranitos and mini conchitas, and serves café de olla, chilaquiles and breakfast tacos; a second shop is in Mission.

La Costa Grill has served Mexican seafood at Palms Crossing since November 2015, known for its aguachiles and ceviches, with lunch specials daily 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

La Playa Mexican Cafe on South 77 Sunshine Strip has been run by the Trevino family since July 2006.

Las Vegas Cafe on West Harrison Avenue has served Tex-Mex and American plates since 1964, from cheese enchiladas and carne guisada to fajitas, with a weekday lunch special.

Lil Rita's Grill House on East Tyler Avenue serves Thai food, despite the name. Texas Highways called it authentic Thai cuisine, and the restaurant takes orders online.
