Plenty of us haven't looked through a real telescope since a school field trip. This Wednesday, UTRGV makes it easy.
The university's HEB Planetarium is bringing its portable Dobsonian telescopes out to the Quad at the Edinburg Student Union on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 8 to 10 p.m. The telescope use is guided, so you don't need to know anything about astronomy to enjoy it.
It's free and open to the public, and the university's listing includes families with children. No registration is needed.
The details: When: Wednesday, Oct. 7, 8 to 10 p.m. Where: The Quad (north lawn), Edinburg Student Union, 1201 W. University Drive, Edinburg Cost: Free Weather: The night runs weather permitting. If the sky looks cloudy, check the UTRGV events calendar at calendar.utrgv.edu before you head out.
