Experience the Magic of Holiday Village Light Displays This Weekend

A Festive Wonderland Perfect for Families, Photos with Santa, and Enchanting Strolls

As the holiday season reaches its peak, communities across South Texas are transforming into festive wonderlands, offering families the perfect opportunity to immerse themselves in the magic of the season.

One standout event is the Hidalgo Festival of Lights, celebrating its 34th year of Christmas magic. From December 7, 2025, to January 4, 2026, visitors can embark on a two-mile illuminated trail featuring dazzling light displays. The festival also offers a narrated train tour aboard the Santa Express, providing a unique perspective of the lights. For those seeking adventure, helicopter rides over the festival offer breathtaking aerial views. Santa's Village is a must-visit, where children can meet Santa and participate in various activities. The festival operates daily from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with extended hours until 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. It's a holiday experience that promises lasting memories for the entire family.

In San Antonio, Lights Alive presents a mesmerizing one-mile drive-thru light show synchronized to music, followed by a Winter Wonderland Park-n-Play festival. Located at 5931 Roft Road, this event features interactive attractions such as escape rooms, ornament crafts in Santa's Workshop, and a fun zone with inflatable games. It's an immersive experience that combines traditional holiday charm with modern entertainment.

For those near Grand Prairie, Prairie Lights offers a two-mile drive featuring over five million lights and animated displays. Midway through the drive, visitors can explore Holiday Village, which includes carnival rides, concessions, photos with Santa, and a magical walk-through forest. The event runs from November 27 to December 31, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM each night. It's a cherished tradition that brings the community together in celebration.

In El Paso, the Star on the Mountain continues to shine brightly, illuminating the Franklin Mountains nightly. This iconic landmark, first lit in 1940, serves as a beacon of holiday spirit, visible from miles away. It's a symbol of unity and joy for the region.

These events, among others, offer a variety of activities suitable for all ages, from enchanting light displays and festive treats to live entertainment and photos with Santa. Embrace the holiday spirit this weekend by visiting these magical destinations and creating unforgettable memories with your loved ones.
