Cinco de Mammo Initiative Launches in the Valley

Early Detection Saves Lives

 

RIO GRANDE VALLEY — South Texas Health System hosted a special breast cancer awareness luncheon to launch its Cinco de Mammo initiative. Local breast cancer survivors helped kick off the program by sharing their personal journeys and emphasizing the life-saving importance of early detection.

 

Every two minutes, a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer. Regular screenings can catch the disease in its earliest, most treatable stages.
